First Council today:
I raised the issues of:
pharma sponsorship of the next RCGP conference
The new campaign – we have to be clear that this is about funding for general practice, for more doctors and nurses and NOT for increasing GP salaries
That the issue about informed consent over data sharing should be further address and the ‘opt in’ model explored
Health literacy is all about reducing inequalities, and we should be conginsant of the issues around commericalised information such as Emma’s diary
Discussed having the college meeting papers as being by default public unless compelling reason to restrict access
Discussed that it would be good for the membership to see what college are doing and tweeting in general terms about what I have said would be fine.
Well done, Margaret! It’s great to see you championing these vital issues. I hope you made even more progress in today’s Council.
It would be great to know the outcome of these discussions. Did you say that minutes will be made publicly available?
P.S. I don’t know much about blogs, but would it be possible to tag posts relating to Council so that folk can find them more easily?
